Our wish for all of our adventuring friends is that their December be a celebration of family, friends, and RPG adventures. To make the December 2024 Dungeon Crate a jolly good time, we filled it with a variety of fun gameplay gifts and plenty of adventures. Red D20 Ornament / Game Room Decor – Timmy’s Treehouse
We included a handsome red 3x3” D20 ornament for members to decorate their tree during Christmas and to hang in their game room to add extra flair for the rest of the year. We partnered with our friends at Timmy’s Treehouse to create the ¼” thick wooden D20 decor.
Cold Rollers Mystery Dice Set -- Dungeon Crate Exclusive
These dice sleigh! Anyone is sure to get stone cold rolls out this mystery dice set. The icey dice-y bag includes a random color polyhedral dice set. We suggested members use this set to roll up a new character for your holiday game!
Mini Dungeon Confetti Stuffed Stocking – Dungeon Crate Exclusive
Dungeon Confetti is one of our most popular items! What’s Dungeon Confetti, you ask? It’s a fun mix of RPG bits and bobs and gameplay gear to help spice up your games. We stuffed a variety of goodies into this dashing stocking so you can have fun finding the treasures inside. Love the idea of Dungeon Confetti? This is a mini version of Dungeon Confetti that you can buy in our online store.
Miniature Figure
We pulled a variety of great minis from Santa’s Bag and found the perfect one for each member. It could be a goblin, monster, or player character. The one each member got was decided by the luck of the roll. For those who paint minis, we suggested they prime these beforehand. Or just play them as-is, many have a basic color that adds some style.
Adventure! Adventure!
We packed plenty of adventures into the December Dungeon Crate. One was an original Shadowdark one-shot dreamed up here and the other was a holiday-inspired, three-adventure set written by James Rodehaver. Here’s a breakdown:
Adventure 1
Feast of Shadows - 3rd Level Adventure by Wayne Brekke – Dungeon Crate Exclusive
The original adventure this month was written by our founder Wayne Brekke for the Shadowdark roleplaying game platform. Like all of our adventures, it’s set in our sandbox world of Halcyon but can be moved to wherever your campaign is set. While designed for Shadowdark, with a few easy adjustments you can use this one-shot to play nearly any fantasy RPG.
Here’s what the adventurer’s were up against:
Our heroes have just pulled into town after a long couple days of travel. Luckily, the town seems to be having a festival and everyone is invited! But things aren’t as jovial as they seem. A sinister force has corrupted the food at the festival, turning its attendees mad. The adventurers must find the source of the corruption and destroy it before they and the entire town lose their minds. Are you up the challenge?
Adventure 2
The Guide to Dappled Hollow - 3 Pathfinder 2 Adventures by James Rodehaver
We were proud to include this three-adventure booklet and guide to Dappled Hollow in December’s Dungeon Crate. The adventures include Revenants Day, Feasts of Felden, and Long Winter’s Nap.
These adventures were produced by Norse Foundry, published by Hex Publishers, and written by James Rodheaver. You remember James (aka JimJam, aka Evil JimJam). He’s a writer, actor, and producer known for writing incredible adventures for us here at Dungeon Crate as well as his iconic work on Tabletop News, Dragons and Stuff, Walking in Circles, and more. Look for their Titanskeep kickstarter in 2025.
