Unboxing November 2022 Dungeon Crate
We’re grateful to share another year with you, adventurer! This is our sixth November (we’ll be seven in February) and we’re still just as delighted to find and create new and interesting accessories to make your RPG sessions even more fun. Also, November is our founder’s birthday month and since he’s an artist we added some crafty goodies too.
But you came here to find out just what kind of things come in a Dungeon Crate. So, let’s take a virtual walk through the adventure buffet and discover the savories and sweets we stuffed into this month’s crate:
Our featured item for November was a Dungeon Crate exclusive! This set of 5 condition markers was a collaboration between us and Project Cuts and Burns. Not your boring, run-of-the-mill condition markers here, adventurer. These condition markers are here to make game day even more fun and challenging. Add the markers to your own character or bestow other players with conditions like Offended, Hungover, and Emotionally Compromised.
We had a lot of fun coming up with new and interesting conditions and are actually planning on making a whole line of salty, sassy, and just plain fun condition markers. Drop us a line at info@dungeoncrate.com if you have ideas!
If you’re new to them, Project Cuts and Burns is a small Iowa-based maker that we’re proud to collaborate with on cool stuff like this.
Our founder and art director have the coolest ideas, which is why we get to have so many Dungeon Crate exclusive items like the next thing in our crate: Mini Character Sheet Card Set.
We created business card-sized character sheets to gamify and up the fun level of what is normally a boring, business card. We made them to hand out at cons and events but we kept getting requests for multiples. So, since you asked so nicely, we created this package set just for you. Tip: wet erase markers work beautifully on these reusable mini character sheets.
What would a D&D subscription box be without a mini? Incomplete! Which is why we added an Orc Miniature Figure from Reaper Miniatures. It works nicely with our orc-inspired Tribulations of the Urzoth one-shot encounter or any other fantasy RPG that needs an orcish foe – or friend. Since it’s from Reaper, you can paint it up or use as-is straight from the box. We don’t judge!
As we mentioned, our founder’s birthday is in November and he’s a mini painter from way back (mid-1980s, in fact – he’s OG) so we added a bottle of Essential Paint from Reaper Miniatures. Part of the fun of a mystery crate is, well, the mystery! We selected a variety of paint colors for this month’s crate and pure luck of the dice roll dictates which color went into which crate! We like Reaper Miniature paints because they’re highly pigmented with a matte finish, are water soluble, and have a dropper style bottle for use with an airbrush or paint brush.
In keeping with the artist theme, we added two general-use Paint Brushes to use with the new paint to bring that new mini (and all those other minis we’ve given out over the last almost-seven years) to life. We included a slender, round brush that lets you bring out those teeny tiny details and also added a flat brush, which is great for base coats, mono-color paint jobs, and dry brushing for that *chef’s kiss* finishing touch.
To show you that we’re the best D&D subscription box, we have our writers create a fresh, new one-shot or full-length adventure every month. In November, we presented a flip on the traditional orcs are evil script with The Tribulations of the Urzoth by Kevin Coffey.
This original level 4 one-shot was designed for D&D 5E but with a few modifications, it can be played with most any fantasy RPG.
Also part of this one-shot is a full-color illustrated Big Baddie stat card with an image and stats for Damug the Fierce, a bad a$$ orc shaman that is – at least temporarily – cool with working with you. Plus, we included a Magical Item Stat Card for the Pride of Uzroth, a rare warhammer any warrior would covet.
Full-color illustrations that you can show your players and 5E stats on the back, for you, make these cards essential additions to playing our Tribulations of the UrzothI one-shot.
Here’s what your adventurer’s are up against:
What happens when a tribe’s life is threatened? War. For generations the tribe of Urzoth has been holding soldiers at bay, but it has a nefarious new enemy: a party of adventurers. Can you help fight them off?
Bonus Item
Each month we add a fun bonus item or two to inspire and delight. This month was no different.

Bonus, this code also gives members 10% off our online store, all month long. We’ve got a host of minis, dice and dice sets, coins, tokens, RPG lifestyle gear, full-length adventures, one-shot encounters, traps, random room encounters, and so much more.
