Unboxing July 2024 Dungeon Crate
We’re super into minis and we know you are too. Our mini fig collection, if we may be so bold, is impressive because it includes minis from a lifetime of collecting (our founder Wayne has been playing since the early 80s). That’s one reason why our members always get at least one mini in their monthly Dungeon Crate. We decided July was going to be a month of minis so we set about to find some great wee pieces for our adventuring party. Let’s walk you through all the mini goodies we loaded into our July Dungeon Crates.
Featured Item for July: Mini Sword - Dwarf Mountain Knives
Our friends at Dwarf Mountain Knives are known for their quality craftsmanship and cool personalities. We instantly took a shine to blacksmith Trena’s mini swords that she crafts from double-headed construction nails. She has over 75 varieties of them and now you have one of your very own.
Mystery Mini Dice - Dungeon Crate Exclusive
So smol! These 10mm plastic dice aren’t just adorbs, they’re also super handy to keep with you just in case of emergency games or life-deciding dice rolls. The mystery is what fun color you got.
Bardic Inspiration Tokens (set of 3) - Timmy’s Treehouse & Dungeon Crate
We partnered with Timmy’s Treehouse to bring you this set of bardic inspiration tokens. Lute, lyre, or pan flute, you got three of the same instrument. All are based on our original design and laser cut from wood by Tim himself.
Wererat Mini - Reaper Miniatures
To complement this month’s one-shot encounter, we added a wererat mini figure from Reaper. You got one of three: wererat berserker, wererat stalker, or wererat assassin, all sculpted by Jason Wiebe and part of the Bones Classic line of RPG miniatures. No priming is required on these detailed rat minis, they are ready to paint up or play as-is.
Mini Monster Fig - Reaper Miniatures
A range of monster minis makes game play more fun. Plus, mystery is the name of the game here. This month’s mini is either a male werewolf sculpted by Ben Siens or a male Bathalian sculpted by Sandra Garrity. Both are from the Bones Classic line of RPG miniatures. Since it’s Reaper, you don’t need to prime the mini, just paint it up pretty or play as-is straight from the box.
Cut Out Campsite Terrain – Dungeon Crate Exclusive
Cut out camp out! Cut out the details and use this hand-drawn campsite terrain to add a sense of realism to your game play. The flat design makes it easy to bring them with you and use on the fly.
Rise of the Rat Monster - 5E 1-shot for levels 1-2 by Ben Brick – Dungeon Crate Exclusive
Our original one-shot this month was written by Ben Brick, set in our sandbox world of Halcyon, and designed for DnD 5E but with a few adjustments you can use it to play nearly any fantasy RPG.
Here’s what your adventurer’s are up against: The citizens of Varnak are suffering from a recent outbreak of a plague of rats in the streets, centered around the docks. The dockmaster is seeking help in exterminating the problem. Is your party up to the challenge?
