Unboxing September 2022 Dungeon Crate
September feels like nostalgia, adventurer. The weather starts to creep toward fall, summer vacations are over, and maybe (hopefully) gaming groups all around the world are getting back to a regular schedule. But you didn’t come here to read about how autumn makes us feel, you came here to find out what rad and super useful RPG loot we stuffed into September’s Dungeon Crate, so we’ll hop to it.
First, please know that we were thinking of everyone’s poor abused feet when we decided to opt for a set of two limited edition TripleFour dice from DoubleSix Dice, instead of traditional d4s. Personal opinion only, stepping on a regular d4 is worse than Legos. Yeow! We got an assortment of colors to add to the mystery of the crate and stuffed them into d6 boxes for cute!
We’re big fans of all dice companies, especially the small ones who appreciate quality dice, and Matt at DoubleSix Dice is no exception. He got his start with Kickstarter and never looked back. We appreciate his dedication as much as his premium dice.
Next up, a Dungeon Crate exclusive! We couldn’t resist collaborating with our friends at Cuts & Burns to create the small boats we included in this crate. Each laser cut wooden boat is custom cut, includes a matching sail, and has room for your minis on board. It’s a snap to put together and comes in a colorful organza bag. Happy sailing!
You know what we always need? More monster minis from Reaper Miniatures! We picked an assortment of ghoulish creatures that our members could paint up (or play as-is). We’re always happy to add Reaper minis to our crate. They have some of the best sculptors in the biz and the minis are made right here in the USA (Texas to be exact).
The Initiative Tracker Card Set included in the September crate is another Dungeon Crate exclusive. You may not know this but we strive to make it so our members can use every item we give them. Take our box for example. It not only looks cool but we also designed it with blank spaces so people can use it for storage and keep tabs on whatever they’ve stashed inside. Long story short, our initiative tracker business cards started out as a way to hand out cards at cons and stuff and also get used because they’re a handy way to make tracking initiative super easy. Then everyone loved them so much that we decided to put together a package set of them for you.
The next item came with a flood…we mean Floyd warning. Floyd’s Collection o’ Traps by Floyd Cocklin is a stack of traps you can drop into any campaign. Since they came from the devious mind of Floyd, we cautioned our members that it was best to stay on their toes. Each trap chart is organized neatly with a description, trigger, effect, and countermeasures but just because you know what you’re getting into doesn’t mean your party won’t be perilously close to death at all times.
We’re all about the exclusive items and the Trap Maker Notepad is another! We provided this handy-dandy notepad as a great way to keep track of Floyd’s deadly traps (or any other traps). It has 25 sheets so folks can stay organized and keep their head in the game.
Last but not least, we gave all members — whether they just get the digital version or get the physical crate — access to our fully loaded Digital Dungeon Crate. Downloads included a PDF of the one-shot adventure, map, stat cards, and more.
Bonus, this code also gives members 10% off our online store, all month long. We’ve got a host of minis, dice and dice sets, coins, tokens, RPG lifestyle gear, full-length adventures, one-shot encounters, traps, random room encounters, and so much more. Many of our items are exclusive to Dungeon Crate! Members simply shop from the online store, enter their secret code at check-out, and 10% rolls off their total. It’s as easy as using your favorite cantrip.
